Stanmore local businesses form together

If you are a Stanmore local resident or business then this is a post for you!

Recently a group of passionate small business owners joined together and are in the process of forming a local business association specifically for Stanmore. Why? Whilst Newtown and Marrickville businesses have their own local associations, we are a smaller “wedge” on the Inner West map and realised that there was an opportunity for Stanmore business owners to learn and support each other, discuss specific local issues and opportunities for growth and economic development.  We’re learning from, and will work with our local associations at Newtown Business Precinct and Marrickville Business Association and we will also discuss our own unique locale.

Kicking things off: The Salisbury Hotel (a forming member of the association), is hosting a Christmas in July night between 6-9pm on Wednesday 18th July.  There will be food and drinks and a great opportunity to meet other locals.  If you would like to join us for the night purchase your tickets here.  The Salisbury Hotel is kindly donating all funds raised from the tickets to the Stanmore Business Association to help fund the engagement of a consultant to assist us in formalising the association and help develop a plan going forward.  As Stanmore locals and small business owners, Blake and I will be there and we would love to meet you.

So far we’ve put a couple of calls out to local businesses with the help of Inner West council, however if you are a small business (either shop front, office or work from home) and want to be part of this, please let us know!
